The White House jokingly floated President Donald Trump as the next James Bond a day before the president started posting AI-generated images of alien arrests, exploding UFOs and space warfare on Truth Social.
The bizarre sequence started after Bond casting director Nina Gold revealed the next actor to play 007 must “ooze sex appeal.”
Gold also told Deadline at Cannes that whoever lands the iconic role should expect to remain with the franchise for at least three films.
Within hours, the White House’s official X account jumped into the conversation.

Sharing a post from Discussing Film announcing Bond casting had begun, the White House uploaded a stylized silhouette image of Trump holding a handgun beneath giant gold “007” lettering beside the phrase “Make America Great Again.”
The liberal internet immediately detonated over the White House’s response.
“Trump as James Bond would be wild: walks into a villain lair, immediately announces ‘great conversation, very productive’ gives the villain a 10-day extension, a 2nd extension, and probably a golf invite, and by the end credits he’s still very close to a deal,” one critic posted.

Another user mocked the White House directly. “White House posting James Bond edits while inflation is hurting Americans, allies don’t trust them anymore, and global diplomacy is a mess,” the person wrote.
One parody image circulating online rebranded the franchise as “Pie Another Day.”

But the Bond meme turned out to be only the beginning.
The next day, Trump’s Truth Social account erupted with a stream of bizarre AI-generated imagery portraying the president battling aliens, commanding futuristic military forces and obliterating enemy spacecraft.

Others depicted him piloting a spacecraft while explosions ripped through enemy ships in the background.
One image carried the words “target destroyed.”

Another post branded “Space Force” showed Trump slamming a giant red button inside what resembled a futuristic battle station as giant laser beams fired toward Earth.
The posts arrived just days after the Pentagon released what it described as “never-before-seen” UFO files.
Experts reviewing the material said the release did not contain any clear evidence proving extraterrestrials have visited Earth. Still, Trump heavily promoted the release online.

“Whereas previous administrations have failed to be transparent on this subject, with these new Documents and Videos, the people can decide for themselves, ‘WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?’ Have Fun and Enjoy!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The first wave of files released May 8 reportedly included more than 160 documents.
According to the release, the material included records from the Department of War, FBI, NASA and State Department along with dozens of videos and images.
The administration later teased that more disclosures are coming.
On Monday, Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said another batch of UFO-related files is currently “actively being processed” for release.
Rep. Tim Burchett added even more intrigue after the initial document dump.
“The 1st drop will be big, but in comparison to what is coming, they will be a drop in the bucket,” Burchett claimed. “I would say ‘Holy Crap’ is coming.”

Trump himself fueled the speculation further during a White House event with the crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission.
“I think some of it is going to be very interesting to people,” Trump said.
The president added that he had “interviewed people” who told him “they saw things you wouldn’t believe.”

The UFO-themed images quickly spread across social media, where critics accused Trump of acting more like an internet troll than a sitting president.
“Always posting on social media instead of doing his d— job like this, our current leader y’all so f——- pathetic,” one critic wrote.
Another accused the White House of focusing on internet memes while ignoring serious national issues.

At the same time, Trump’s account continued posting AI-generated images depicting political opponents and military scenarios.
One image portrayed California Gov. Gavin Newsom as a zombie.
Another showed him restrained in a straitjacket beneath references to “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Newsom’s office eventually responded by reposting Trump’s alien image and asking, “Do you think he’s lost it?”

Trump also uploaded multiple AI-generated clips featuring a U.S. battleship intercepting Iranian missiles.
The videos were paired with footage from a White House maternal healthcare event where Trump pantomimed launching a missile strike.
“OK. We have it in our sight: Fire. Boom,” Trump said while mimicking keyboard commands.

Another AI image showed Trump marching beside robotic military units.
One painting-style image portrayed the president surrounded by bald eagles and American flags.
Trump also reposted content praising him for supposedly appearing younger over time, including one image claiming he “ages in reverse.”

Meanwhile, Bond fans continued speculating about who will actually inherit the iconic role.
Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the search is officially underway.
“The search for the next James Bond is underway,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
“While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.”
Reports indicate actors including Tom Francis, Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Callum Turner are under consideration.
The next Bond film will reportedly be directed by Denis Villeneuve and produced by Amy Pascal and David Heyman.
Daniel Craig, who most recently portrayed Bond, previously made clear he had little interest in immediately returning to the franchise.
“Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” Craig said during a previous interview. “No, not at the moment.”
