Comedian Humiliates RFK Jr.’s Famous Wife With Cheating Jokes

John Mulaney unloaded on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during two separate Netflix Is a Joke Festival appearances this week, mocking the Health and Human Services for cheating on his famous wife.

The comedian’s attacks on RFK Jr. became some of the biggest moments of both Hollywood Bowl shows, with Mulaney leaning hard into a gravelly impression of Kennedy while ripping him in front of sold-out crowds.

Mulaney first took aim at Kennedy during the May 7 “Night of Too Many Stars” benefit show.

While discussing his past involvement with Riverkeepers, an environmental organization dedicated to protecting New York’s Hudson River, Mulaney revealed he had known Kennedy for years.

“I met Bobby like 10 years ago because we were both involved in Riverkeepers,” Mulaney told the crowd.

Then he twisted the story into a punchline. “That’s how much he shouldn’t be in the government — I know him,” Mulaney joked while slipping into his RFK Jr. rasp.

“He’s comedy adjacent, you know,” Mulaney disgustingly continued. “He’s married to that woman from Curb Your Enthusiasm and cheats on her like a dog.”

The crowd appeared briefly stunned by the line, with audible gasps cutting through the arena before Mulaney doubled down.

“Sorry for the pearl clutch here,” he told the audience. “Sorry to drop that Public Domain information on the Hollywood Bowl.”

Kennedy has largely avoided publicly discussing reports surrounding his alleged relationship with journalist Olivia Nuzzi, which surfaced during the 2024 presidential campaign.

At the time, Nuzzi was placed on leave by New York magazine after the relationship became public.

“The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict,” Nuzzi said.

“I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York.”

New York later announced Nuzzi was no longer employed at the magazine. She has since joined Vanity Fair as West Coast editor.

Mulaney’s roast of Kennedy did not stop with the affair jokes. The comedian returned to RFK Jr.’s environmental background and mocked his move from activism into federal power.

“His old job was keeping the Hudson River, whose native fish is tied-off used condoms, clean,” Mulaney joked while continuing the impression. “Now I’m in charge of your bones and your tummy. Stupid f—.”

The crowd erupted at the line as Mulaney kept piling on.

Still using Kennedy’s voice, the comedian shifted into a dark riff involving RFK Jr.’s late father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968 during his presidential campaign.

“‘My father was a good man and I’m a very bad man…’” Mulaney said. “Anyway, enough of that s—. Stop making me political.”

The jokes immediately spread online after clips from the show surfaced on social media.

But remarkably, Mulaney came back for another round the very next night.

While headlining his own Netflix Is a Joke Festival performance at the Hollywood Bowl, Mulaney again slipped into the RFK Jr. impression during a story about his son Malcolm’s fourth birthday party.

According to GQ, the comedian described a bizarrely hoarse child at the event before repeatedly drifting back into the Kennedy voice.

Writer Frazier Tharpe noted that the recurring RFK Jr. impression “lands even better in that context than it does in the Night of Too Many Stars clip.”

Tharpe wrote that Mulaney kept “stringing the audience along as if the RFK stuff is just a stray thought.”

Kennedy’s personal life has remained under intense public scrutiny ever since the Nuzzi controversy exploded during his presidential run.

His wife, actress Cheryl Hines, later described the media firestorm as emotionally overwhelming.

“The swirl of headlines, rumors, and insinuations was upsetting and overwhelming,” Hines wrote in her memoir “Unscripted.” “I hated all of it.”

Hines said Kennedy warned her while she was traveling in Italy with her daughters that another story was about to break.

“At first, it was an ambiguous story about a political journalist who said she had some communication with a former reporting subject that had turned personal,” Hines wrote.

“There was a lot of speculation that she was referring to Bobby. The press was running wild with it.”

The actress admitted she initially tried to emotionally detach from the scandal after years of dealing with controversy surrounding Kennedy.

However, she later described feeling increasingly disconnected from him.

“This latest story was leaving me with the feeling of being unimportant to him,” Hines wrote.

“It felt like a game people were playing and I wasn’t interested in participating. It was the end of the line for me.”

The couple ultimately reconciled after Kennedy met her at the airport when she returned home.

“For the next few days, we stopped everything and drilled down on the truth,” Hines wrote. “We locked ourselves in our room and laid it all on the table.”

The marriage drama resurfaced again after the release of the recent book “RFK Jr.: The Fall and Rise,” which reportedly drew from Kennedy’s personal diaries and detailed multiple alleged affairs.

Hines also faced tense questions about Kennedy during an appearance on “The View” while promoting her memoir.

“You know, I was actually hoping that it was going to be more personal on The View,” Hines later said on Billy Bush’s “Hot Mics” podcast. “But it was what it was.”

She said the liberal round table “just wanted to grill me about Bobby.”

The exchange turned combative when “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin argued Kennedy was “the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head that we’ve had in history.”

Hines defended her husband’s record as an environmental lawyer who sued major corporations over health concerns.

Hostin pushed back. “He has also spread a lot of misinformation, a lot of chaos, a lot of confusion,” Hostin said. “And I think it’s just a very dangerous thing.”

Mulaney has quietly joked about Kennedy for years.

Back in 2023, while guest-hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live” with Andy Samberg, Mulaney interviewed Hines and brought up Kennedy’s reported visit with Fidel Castro in Cuba.

Hines recalled Castro serving lemonade during the visit.

“It was the best lemonade I’ve ever had honestly,” Hines said. “I don’t know what was in it, but it was fantastic.”

Mulaney immediately turned the story into another punchline.

“The CIA found out he does two Crystal Light packets,” the comedian joked. “That’s the secret.”
