Joe Rogan skewered former President Bill Clinton after newly released Epstein files reignited scrutiny over Clinton’s past ties to the disgraced financier.
The podcast host took aim at Clinton during a recent conversation with fellow comedian Tom Segura.
He zeroed in on a public statement issued by Clinton through his spokesman after the latest batch of Epstein-related documents was released by the Department of Justice.
In that statement, Clinton suggested that forces within the government were shielding someone, pointing the finger at Attorney General Pam Bondi following the document release.

“Someone or something is being protected,” the statement claimed, while also insisting, “We need no such protection.”
The Friday document release included several photographs featuring Clinton, among them images of the former president swimming shirtless, posing alongside music figures such as Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger, and appearing with other people whose identities were obscured by redactions.
The photos quickly circulated online, fueling renewed discussion of Clinton’s long-documented association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Rogan and Segura read through the statement during the podcast, reacting to it line by line.
When Rogan reached the portion asserting that Clinton required no protection, he openly mocked the phrasing.

Per the Epstein Files Transparency Act, DOJ was specifically instructed only to redact the faces of victims and/or minors.

“This is like the killer pretending to be the detective,” Rogan remarked. “‘We have got to solve this crime. We do not know who!’”
Segura followed with his own analogy, adding, “This is the killer joining the search party.”
Rogan then referenced one of the most widely discussed images connected to the Epstein scandal.

“We got photos of you in a hot tub, buddy,” he joked before two comedians continued dissecting the statement.
As the discussion continued, Rogan suggested that the tone of the release hinted at behind-the-scenes negotiations tied to the timing and scope of the document dump.
“This means a deal was made,” Rogan noted. “So if you release a press release like that, it means the call went well. You got a deal in. ‘Whew, we’re good! All we have to do is let him run for a third term.’”

Rogan also questioned why the release process had taken as long as it did, raising speculation about technology being used to manage the documents.
“Doesn’t it seem like you could throw all of that into AI at this stage in the game and just redact the names of the victims and let’s go?” Rogan asked.
Beyond commentary from the podcast, Clinton directly called on Bondi to release additional materials tied to the Epstein investigation.

He urged the Justice Department to “immediately release any remaining materials referring to, mentioning, or containing a photograph of Bill Clinton.”
The statement accused the DOJ of selectively releasing documents in a way that suggested misconduct by people who, according to Clinton, had already been cleared.
His spokesperson argued that withholding documents would only deepen suspicions that the release strategy was built around “insinuation” rather than transparency.

The Justice Department rejected those claims when asked about the statement.
“This is a ridiculous and false assertion,” the DOJ said in a statement. “Bill Clinton is desperate to point fingers at anyone to distract from the photographs of him.”
“The Department of Justice will continue to release thousands of pages of material, and no redactions will be made to protect any famous or politically sensitive people.”
Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña initially attempted to redirect attention toward President Donald Trump, suggesting the document release was intended to protect Trump rather than Clinton.

“The White House hasn’t been hiding these files for months only to dump them late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton,” Ureña wrote on social media.
“This is about shielding themselves from what comes next, or from what they’ll try and hide forever. So they can release as many grainy 20-plus-year-old photos as they want, but this isn’t about Bill Clinton.”
Ureña later outlined what he described as two categories of individuals connected to Epstein.
One group, he said, cut off contact after Epstein’s criminal conviction, while another group maintained relationships even after the allegations became public.

“We’re in the first,” Ureña said. “No amount of stalling by people in the second group will change that. Everyone, especially MAGA, expects answers, not scapegoats.”
President Trump addressed the issue when asked about the volume of photographs featuring Clinton included in the DOJ release.
“I hate to see photos come out of him, but this is what the Democrats, mostly Democrats and a couple of bad Republicans, are asking for,” Trump said while speaking to reporters during a shipbuilding announcement.
Trump also offered a personal assessment of his relationship with Clinton.
“Look, I don’t like the … I like Bill Clinton. I’ve always gotten along with Bill Clinton, have been nice to him. He’s been nice to me. We’ve always gotten along. I respect him,” he commented.

Speaking more broadly about Epstein’s social activity, Trump noted that Epstein had connections across elite circles for years.
“Everybody was friendly with this guy, either friendly or not friendly,” Trump said.
“He was all over Palm Beach and other places. The head of Harvard was his best friend, Larry Summers, and Bill Clinton was a friend of his, but everybody was.”
Trump added that he severed ties with Epstein years earlier, saying he “threw him out” of Mar-a-Lago in the early 2000s.
The Justice Department under Trump has released thousands of pages of material tied to Epstein investigations conducted over the years, with officials signaling that additional documents are expected in the near future.
Democrats have criticized both the pace and scope of the releases following Trump’s signing of the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law.
On Monday, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer of New York called for the Senate to pursue legal action against the DOJ.
“I am introducing a resolution directing the Senate to initiate legal action against DOJ for its blatant disregard of the law in its refusal to release the complete Epstein files,” Schumer said in a statement posted on social media.
“The American people deserve full transparency, and Senate Democrats will use every tool at our disposal to ensure they get it. This administration cannot be allowed to hide the truth,” he added.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche defended the department’s approach during a Sunday interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“The reason why we are still reviewing documents and still continuing our process is simply that to protect victims,” Blanche defended.
“So the same individuals that are out there complaining about the lack of documents that were produced on Friday are the same individuals who apparently don’t want us to protect victims.”
Blanche also said the DOJ would not shield President Trump from scrutiny.
He stated that attorneys are reviewing “about a million or so pages of documents” to remove sensitive victim information before release.
