A framed version of the New York Post’s cover featuring President Donald Trump’s iconic mug shot has been spotted prominently displayed in the White House hallway leading to the Oval Office.
The image, taken during Trump’s 2023 booking at Fulton County Jail in Georgia, was seen in photographs snapped during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
The path featuring the portrait connects the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room, making it highly visible to anyone visiting those prestigious spaces, including global dignitaries.
Reports confirm the framed cover has occupied this spot since at least February 4, during Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Dan Scavino, a close ally of Trump and his deputy chief of staff, turned to social platform X to share a clip panning by the framed mug shot on Friday.
The camera transitioned into the Oval Office in his post captioned, “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!” alongside, “WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL OVAL OFFICE.”
The mugshot was taken after Trump surrendered himself to Georgia’s Fulton County Jail, following an indictment led by district attorney Fani Willis.

The charges stemmed from claims alleging attempts by Trump and 18 others to alter Georgia’s 2020 election outcomes. All defendants, including Trump, entered not-guilty pleas.
The legal proceedings under Georgia’s RICO Act continue despite a recent development with Willis being removed from handling the case by the state Appeals Court.
Outside of the White House, Trump has showcased the mug shot as a point of pride and as a rallying symbol for the “Make America Great Again” movement.
Happy Valentine’s Day Dan! Tell @POTUS @realDonaldTrump that we loooove himmmm!
SO PROUD of our Country. We are getting back on track for the first time in decades. Before I was born even!
The excitement is catching on, it is so infectious! People have been CRAVING… pic.twitter.com/uOTpI9obB3

“Did you like my mug shot?” he asked a cheering crowd at an August 2024 rally. “It’s the No. 1 selling mug shot in history! It beat Elvis — and it beat Frank Sinatra. Did you know that?”
Trump told the crowd, “You have made mine bigger than both of them — by a lot.” The image-inspired merchandise also became a lucrative centerpiece for Trump’s 2024 campaign.
Social channels erupted after news of the portrait’s placement in the West Wing broke. Memes circulated quickly, with an X splash factor driving praise for the unprecedented.

Specific comments ranged from “Legendary! President Trump hangs his mugshot in the White House” to “Democrats really thought the Trump arrest and mugshot would end him politically. Instead, it’s now framed outside the Oval Office.”
One fiery reaction posted by Libs of TikTok read, “Everyone who walks into the Oval Office has to see Trump’s epic mugshot. It’s a reminder of what they did to him and why he won.”
Another simply described the display as “surreal and bad a**.”
Also going public from the official White House Instagram account just before the Valentine’s Day weekend was a politically charged and, by some accounts, inflammatory card featuring Trump and border czar Tom Homan.

The pink-background design included the following not-so-subtle line as its centerpiece message: “Roses are red, violets are blue, come here illegally and we’ll deport you.”
The post immediately drew backlash, with critics calling it unbecoming of a government-run account.
Instagram users didn’t hold back, with one commenter labeling it “an insane thing to post from a government account,” while others condemned it as a blatant misuse of an official platform.
“This administration has no respect for human rights or dignity,” one user wrote.

Predictably, the poem sparked waves of parody online. Some turned the jab into satirical verse, like one claiming, “Roses are red, violets are blue, America thrives because of immigrants too.”
While others used humor laced with stinging jabs, like mocking Trump’s occasionally ridiculed interactions with foreign journalists.
One rendition posted, “Roses are red, violets are blue… That’s a beautiful accent, but I can’t understand you,” referencing past moments when Trump struggled with the accents of reporters from Afghanistan and India.

While some thought that “this is definitely going down in history as the wildest post made by The White House,” others were inspired to share hilarious parodies.
“Republicans are Red, Democrats are Blue, If you’re here illegally, we will Deport you,” someone posted along with an image of Homan.
Another viral image showed former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard holding a pink rifle with heart-shaped details, overlaid with text reading, “Roses are Red, My rifle is pink, Valentine’s Day without you would just stink!”
