A Christmas Day social media post from Team Trump blending holiday nostalgia, pop culture, and political rivalry quickly went viral as contrasting images of Donald Trump and Joe Biden circulated across platforms.
On Christmas Day, the official Team Trump Instagram account published a digitally altered image depicting President Donald Trump as Kevin McCallister, the mischievous child protagonist from the 1992 film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
The post framed the image as a holiday-themed reference to Trump’s brief cameo in the movie, while portraying former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris as the film’s antagonists.
The image, shared on the verified @teamtrump Instagram account, shows Trump in the familiar pose associated with Kevin McCallister, originally portrayed by actor Macaulay Culkin.

Positioned behind Trump were Biden and Harris, visually styled to resemble the burglars who serve as villains in the film.
The classic Home Alone title was replaced with the slogan “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” integrating Trump’s long-standing campaign message into the cinematic reference.
Accompanying the image was a caption tying Trump’s real-life appearance in the film to the holiday message.

“Kevin would still be lost in Plaza if it weren’t for President @realdonaldtrump! Merry Christmas patriots!!” the caption read.
In Home Alone 2, Trump appears briefly as himself in a scene set inside the Plaza Hotel in New York City, which he owned at the time of filming.
It’s almost that time of year again. 🎄
Home Alone 2 was filmed across real New York locations, from The Plaza to Central Park to the top of the World Trade Center.

In the scene, Kevin McCallister enters the hotel alone and approaches Trump to ask for directions.
Trump responds by gesturing and saying, “Down the hall and to the left,” before exiting the frame.
Over the years, the cameo has become one of the most frequently discussed moments of Trump’s pre-presidency presence in popular culture.
The holiday post circulated widely online, intersecting with renewed attention on the film following recent remarks by Culkin during a 35th anniversary screening at the Academy Museum.
The former child actor discussed the legacy of the movie and shared personal reflections on watching the film through the perspective of a parent.
Now this is a really cool interview!
And it's so Christmas oriented!

Culkin revealed that he has intentionally kept his role in the movie a secret from his young children.
“They don’t even call it ‘Home Alone,’ they call it ‘Kevin.’ They’re like, ‘Wow, Kevin’s really funny.’ I go, ‘He’s also handsome, somebody that your mom [Brenda Song] might be into,’” Culkin said.
Culkin has two children with his wife, actress Brenda Song, sons Dakota, 4, and Carson, 3.
He said he has avoided telling them that he portrayed Kevin McCallister in order to preserve their enjoyment of the film. “I try to keep the magic alive,” he said.
He recounted an interaction with his older child while showing a family photograph.
“I showed my oldest — he wanted to see a picture of me and my siblings, so I pulled up this old photo; it’s all my siblings, and he looks right at me, and he goes, ‘Who’s that? That looks like Kevin,’” Culkin said. “I go, ‘Oh, no, nobody, here’s your aunt.’”
During the question-and-answer session after the screening, Culkin said his view of the film has shifted since becoming a father, noting that he now connects more closely with Catherine O’Hara’s character.
He described relating to the character’s urgency in trying to reunite with her child.
He also addressed how audiences frequently ask whether he watches the movie with his children. “Of course, this movie is awesome,” Culkin said.
“But I don’t watch the movie, I watch them,” he added. “I watch their eyes. I listen to them laugh and things like that. And it makes me really proud to be a part of something like that. So it resonates now. Now I can see it through their eyes.”
He continued by reflecting on the generational reach of the film. “You guys were raised on it, now you guys are raising your kids on it, right? So, now I’m raising my kids on it. It means something completely different. That’s the way I look at the movie nowadays.”
While Trump’s holiday post generated attention for its playful tone, Biden’s own Christmas message drew a different kind of reaction.
Biden shared a family photo Wednesday night wishing followers a happy holiday season. “Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love,” he wrote on X.

The image showed Biden standing in front of a Christmas tree alongside seven family members.
Online users quickly noted that Biden, 83, appeared largely obscured in the photograph, with part of his face blocked by his wife Jill Biden.
The image had been viewed more than 4.5 million times as of Thursday night.
Commentary followed almost immediately. “This is surely someone mocking Joe Biden as being photoshopped into the picture,” one observer wrote.
“But no, it’s real. It’s from his official account. This is mind blowing.”
Journalist Andy Ngo criticized the composition of the photo, writing, “I think it’s disrespectful to put the eldest family member in the back of a photo taken for the former president’s social media.” Another commenter asked, “Did the Autopen sign this greeting.”
Several users focused on Biden’s placement in the image. “This is a former president of the United States being shoved in the background and half covered up by his wife in his own photo,” one post said. “It’s [sic] could almost be a joke but I don’t think it is.”
Attention also turned to Biden’s son Hunter, 55, who appeared prominently in the photograph alongside his daughter Maisy, 24, and his wife Melissa Cohen, 39. Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley, 44, and granddaughter Finnegan, 25, were also included.
The eldest Biden was the only person in the photo whose face was partially obscured. “Hunter is the alpha now,” one user noted.
Amid the holiday messages, Trump used his Truth Social platform to post a separate Christmas message addressing individuals connected to the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Posting Thursday evening, Trump referenced what he described as people who distanced themselves from Epstein after previously associating with him.
“Merry Christmas to all, including the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein, gave him bundles of money, went to his Island, attended his parties, and thought he was the greatest guy on earth, only to ‘drop him like a dog’ when things got too HOT,” Trump wrote.

He continued by asserting that blame had been redirected toward him despite his past actions.
He wrote that those individuals “falsely claimed they had nothing to do with him, didn’t know him, said he was a disgusting person, and then blame, of course, President Donald J. Trump, who was actually the only one who did drop Epstein, and long before it became fashionable to do so.”
Trump added that when names emerge in what he referred to as the “ongoing Radical Left Witch Hunt,” explanations would follow.
“When their names get brought out in the ongoing Radical Left Witch Hunt (plus one lowlife Republican,’ Massie!), and it is revealed that they are Democrats all, there will be a lot of explaining to do, much like there was when it was made public that the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax was a fictitious story,” he continued. “A total Scam — and had nothing to do with ‘TRUMP.’”
Trump also criticized media coverage, singling out The New York Times. He said the outlet was “losing many subscribers due to their highly inaccurate (FAKE!) coverage.”
“Now the same losers are at it again, only this time so many of their friends, mostly innocent, will be badly hurt and reputationally tarnished,” Trump added.
He closed the post with a final holiday message directed at critics. “But sadly, that’s the way it is in the World of Corrupt Democrat Politics!!! Enjoy what may be your last Merry Christmas! President Donald J. Trump.”
