Ultra-liberal comedian and actor Patton Oswalt stunned social media with a vile message directed at former ICE director and current Trump-appointed border czar Tom Homan.
Homan revealed this week that his family is now living apart due to constant death threats in response to his position in the government.
Homan, a longtime law enforcement official and now a central figure in President Donald Trump’s renewed immigration crackdown, told podcast host Miranda Devine that security fears have forced him to take drastic measures.
“My wife’s living separately from me right now, mainly because I worked for many hours, but mostly because of the death threats against me,” Homan explained.

“She’s someplace else. I see her as much as I can, but the death threats against me and my family are outrageous.”
Oswalt, known more for his online outbursts than any blockbuster lead roles, took to the liberal BlueSky platform to react.
Rather than offering concern or denouncing the threats, the actor posted, “good. i hope it gets so much worse for this rancid pile of polenta.”

Homan went on to describe the personal cost of public service under the Trump administration, citing long hours and time away from his children.
“I spent a lot of time with my boys growing up, but as I got more and more — climbed the ladder of what I’ve done with ICE director and now back — I don’t see my family very much,” Homan said.
Homan served as acting ICE director during Trump’s first term but retired after the Senate delayed his confirmation.
Following Trump’s reelection, Homan returned as the administration’s top border policy enforcer.
“I was the first person he called, bringing back, which, again, was a proud moment,” Homan said.
“But I was actually out to dinner with my wife, and then my phone rang, and I looked down, and it says, ‘POTUS.’ And my wife says, ‘He’s asking him to come back, isn’t he?'”
According to Homan, Trump’s pitch was blunt: “You’ve been b***hing about it for four years. Well, come back and fix it.”
Since Trump resumed office, illegal crossings have dropped to historic lows.
What hasn’t slowed is Oswalt’s rage toward those carrying out the administration’s immigration agenda.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Oswalt told guest host Diego Luna that he “hates” what ICE agents are doing to the immigrant population.

Mocking agents as wannabe action heroes, Oswalt remarked, “It’s so clear this was their fantasy… they’re shaped like me, they look like Pillsbury Stromtroopers.”
The actor turned directly to ICE officers watching the program. “Your knees are hurting, your hips are screaming, and your back is aching,” he taunted.
“And you’re thinking, ‘Why didn’t I just stay home and play Red Dead Redemption and eat Sun Chips instead of coming out here in the heat where everyone’s booing me and I’m realizing that I’m the biggest douchebag on the planet?’”
He closed by encouraging ICE personnel to stop enforcing immigration law and instead “serve humanity by staying home and playing video games and purchasing all of America’s great snack foods and helping this wonderful economy.”
Oswalt’s history of hostility toward Trump supporters is well documented.
Back in 2019, the actor tweeted, “The President is a stupid a**hole and if you voted for him you’re a stupid a**hole and if you still support him you’re a stupid a**hole. Oh no this Tweet is going to make all the stupid a**holes not like me waaaaah.”

Just months earlier, he offered another blunt message to Trump backers: “can f**k right off.”
The actor got into a Trump-supporter the same year, after posting an NSFW poem about the president.
“I just realized why I was so happy you died in Blade Trinity!” Twitter user Michael Beaty responded to Oswalt. “And you shoot basketball ike (sic) the sawed off little man you are.”
The actor popped off at Beaty before “he looked at his timeline and he’s in a LOT of trouble health-wise. I’d be pissed off too. He’s been dealt some sh**ty cards — let’s deal him some good ones.”
“Click and donate — just like I’m about to,” Oswalt tweeted in response to a post from Beaty crowdsourcing “Help after Sepsis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis and Coma,” with a link to a GoFundMe account.
Oswalt’s post helped Beaty raise over $30,000 in donations. “I want to thank everyone who came to my aid with generous outpourings- and also to [Oswalt] without whom I would not be the recipient of so much love and support,” he wrote.
