Former President Donald Trump fired back at Robert De Niro after the aging actor went on wild rant about how he would run the country as a “dictatorship” if he gets back in the Oval Office.
De Niro made the remarks during a recent appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” after the titular host questioned how it was possible that Trump was beating President Joe Biden in the polls.
The late night talk show host brought up a New York Times/Sienna poll that indicated Trump was was beating the elderly commander-in-chief by 48% to 43%.
In disheartening news to Democrats, Maher pointed out that the 45th president was more popular with Hispanic voters, and was even with Biden amongst women.
NEW: Actor Robert De Niro says Donald Trump will come “looking” for him and will cancel Bill Maher’s show if he wins the 2024 election.

“I don’t know, I just don’t want to feel the way I did,” the “Raging Bull” star moaned. “And many, many of us don’t. After the election in 2016, where we couldn’t believe that it happened.”
De Niro had other choice opinions about Trump, who he referred to as both a “total monster” and “a mean, nasty, hateful person.”
The “Taxi Driver” star hysterically suggested that the country would become a “dictatorship” if Trump trounces Biden in the upcoming election, and hinted that Maher would be out of a job.
“If he is, he wins the election. You won’t be on this show anymore. He’ll come looking for me. There’ll be things that happen that none of us can imagine,” De Niro insisted.
“That’s what happens in that kind of a dictatorship, which is what he says. Let’s believe and take him at his word.”
Maher noted that he always believed that Trump would refuse to “concede power,” and claimed that he “still hasn’t.”

“He still hasn’t — just admitted he lost the last election and he advertises that he will go on. He says he’s been cheated out of one term,” the “Club Random” podcast host remarked.
“So he’s a sociopathic, psychopathic, malignant narcissist. He is a dangerous person,” De Niro deduced.
He went on to note that he would would not portray Trump on the silver screen if the opportunity ever arose.
“I’d never play him as an actor because I can’t see any good in him. Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing redeemable in him.”
Trump responded in a Truth Social post the next day, where he clapped back: “Robert DeNiro has a terminal case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Such a stupid sounding guy, a low IQ individual!”
The former president seems to be all that De Niro can talk about while doing Academy Award press lately.

During a post-Oscars discussion with award show host Jimmy Kimmel, the actor once again brought up Trump while discussing his nomination for “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
“You and I have something in common,” Kimmel said in reference to his spat with Trump during the Academy Awards live broadcast. “We have both been immortalized on social media by our former President Donald Trump.”
“He’s so f**king stupid,” De Niro said about Trump’s Truth Social posts about the pair of them. “Look at the lame things that he said. He’s so stupid, he can’t even say anything clever.”
“He’s a moron, but he’s a scary one,” he went on. “It’s all an act in certain way. It’s all out of insecurity. He’s deeply, deeply insecure. He is a malignant narcissist. He’s a socio-psychopath.”
De Niro said he was “baffled” by Trump’s continued appeal to conservatives. “I can’t understand it,” he commented, calling the ex-president both “dangerous” and “frightening.”
“Shame on those Republicans that don’t have the nerve, the balls, to go after [Trump],” he complained.
“What do they tell their kids? What do they tell their grandkids later when it’s written in history books, what their role is and what they did, and [how] they allowed him to do this? He’s an outright criminal and they’re still buying it.”
