Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Said His Famous Cronies Are ‘Loyal’ To The Democratic Party, Not Biden

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson told Joe Rogan that he has famous friends who are “loyal” to the Democratic party, but won’t vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.

The “Black Adam” star made the remarks during Wednesday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

The actor expressed his disappointment with the current state of U.S. politics after Rogan, spoke fondly about his youth, when people with opposing political views could still associate.

“When I was a kid, you could have a Republican friend,” Rogan remarked.

“It’s no big deal,” he continued. “Bobby likes George Bush, who cares? Who gives a f**k?”

“You were a supporter of Bill Clinton. He liked George Bush, nobody cared.”

Rogan wondered how conservatives came to be considered Nazis in the current political climate.

“Dude, it’s the craziest thing,” Johnson agreed. “I have friends who support Trump. I have friends who support Biden. I have friends…”

However, Rogan interrupted him, doubting the existence of the friends who still support Biden, before chuckling and saying, “come on.”

“Oh, no no no,” Johnson responded. “Here’s what I do, I have friends. Thank you, that’s a good check. Because that’s important. This is important context.”

Johnson clarified that some of his friends may support the president due to their allegiance to the Democratic Party, rather than being dedicated solely to Biden.

“I have friends who are loyal to the party,” he detailed. “I have friends who are like, f*** it, I’m not voting for either one [Trump or Biden] last election, this election.

Johnson said that he would “love” to see the United States get to a point “where its okay” to disagree with other people’s political views amicably.

He noted that the country’s political divide is “unhealthy” for people as individuals and collectively “just in terms of humanity.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Rogan brought up how some Americans wanted The Rock to be the President of the United States, with media mogul Oprah Winfrey as his Vice President.

Johnson shared how unreal it seemed to him when he was seriously approached to run in the upcoming election.

“Dude, so one of the parties came to visit me at the end of last year asking for me to run for president,” he recalled.

“It was first of all, incredibly f***ing surreal cause I was the guy who’s wrestling in flea markets looking for free corndogs and hotdogs and s–t.”

He explained how when he was a young wrestler, he sold his head shots for five dollars to earn money, and it was “wild” to him that decades later, “all the sudden I’m having that conversation.”

Johnson was stunned that they had specific data about what would happen if he ran, which he noted was “really f**king deep” in forecasted scenarios of his potential political trajectory.

“It’s never been my goal,” he told Rogan. “I appreciate it and I’m f***ing honored.”

“It made me think, either this is an incredible thing and I got some pretty decent leadership skills or things are so f***ed up…” Johnson said as he and the host devolved into chuckles.

“They’re turning to the pro-wrestling movie star to try to run the world,” Rogan cackled.

Last week Johnson told “What Now?” podcast host Trevor Noah that he was approached by multiple political parties asking him if he would consider running for president.

He said that a 2021 poll, where 46% of respondents indicated they would vote for him, inspired political parties to speak to him.

“It was a big deal, and it came out of the blue. It was one after the other, and they brought up that poll,” the “Jumanji” star told Noah.

“They also brought up their own deep-dive research that would prove that should I ever go down that road [I’d be a real contender],” he added.
