Notoriously liberal filmmaker Oliver Stone is sorry that he voted for President Joe Biden, and fears he’ll start World War III by supporting Ukraine.
In a powerful episode of comedian Russell Brand’s “Stay Free” podcast, the JFK director hashed out harsh criticism of the 46th president.
“If we don’t stop this, what Biden is doing, this guy is – I voted for him – I made a mistake,” Stone remarked.
“I was thinking he was an old man now that he would calm down, that he would be more mellow and so-forth, I didn’t see that at all.”

Stone’s not confident that Biden is the one pulling the strings at the White House. “I see a man who maybe is not in charge of his own administration. Who knows?” he commented.
What the Wall Street director is most concerned about is the ramifications of Biden’s unwavering support of Ukraine.
“It seems that he’s dragging us stupidly into a confrontation with a power that is not going to give,” he stated.
“This is their borders. This is their world. This is NATO going into Ukraine. This is a whole other story.”
Stone’s commentary is the result of making several documentaries about relations between Ukraine and Russia, including 2016’s Ukraine on Fire, the 2019 follow-up Revealing Ukraine, and television series The Putin Interviews.
“You have to look at the reasons for this war, and whenever you do, the Americans like to simplify and say it’s a question of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” he detailed. “That’s very simplistic and very black-and-white.”
Stone noted that Ukraine on Fire “explains the origins of this war in the coup d’état of 2014 which was sponsored and supported thoroughly by the United States, it was a very deep plan to penetrate the Russian Federation.”
He blamed members of the “Neoconservative movement who started the war in Iraq” and today are still “deep inside our government,” in the Biden administration, for starting the war in Ukraine.
“Biden is an old Cold Warrior, and he really hates the old Soviet Union which he confounds again with the Russian Federation, which is not communist,” Stone detailed.
He offered his insight on Russian President Vladimir Putin, which he garnered from the series of interviews Stone held with him while filming The Putin Interviews between 2015 and 2017.
“Putin is not the monster pictured by the American propaganda machine,” Stone insisted.
‘Unless we change our direction, our thinking, we’re taking Russia into the edge… This is crazy what’s going on; it’s nuts, it’s suicidal; we’re gonna hurt ourselves in a big way. This is a potential World War III,” he told Brand.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that the war was coming back to Russia, after attacking Moscow in drone attacks on Sunday.
Zelensky remarked that the strikes on the Russian capital were the “inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process” of the conflict.
“Today is the 522nd day of the so-called ‘Special Military Operation’, which the Russian leadership thought would last a couple of weeks,” he said in a video.
“Gradually, the war is returning to the territory of Russia – to its symbolic centers and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process.”
According to Russian officials, three drones were shot down on Sunday morning after injuring one person and damaging buildings, prior to a military parade Putin was set to attend.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russia was shoring up their defenses. “Given the evolving situation, additional measures have been taken to improve defenses against air and sea-based attacks,” he asserted on Monday.
“The attack shows the terrorist nature of the Kyiv regime,” added Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Monday. “The counteroffensive is not going as planned, so Ukraine is opting for targeting civilian infrastructure. It’s disgusting.
Meanwhile, Russia retaliated with a missile strike on civilian buildings in Central Ukraine, which killed four, including a child.
