Comedian Wanda Sykes didn’t hold back when she was asked about former President Donald Trump and his conservative competitors for the 2024 presidential election.
In an interview with Variety, Sykes said that she doesn’t “see how” the 45th president could be nominated to represent the GOP again.
“I mean, there are definitely pockets that he’s going to dominate, but I don’t see across the country how he’ll get the nomination. Right? Are we that bad? Is the country that horrible? Really?” She remarked.
The interviewer pointed out that every other Republican candidate, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, current South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and pharma bro Vivek Ramaswamy, amongst others were polling lower than Trump.

“Well, I mean, they’re all awful,” she shot back.
Sykes is putting all her eggs in President Joe Biden’s basket for 2024. “Biden will beat him again. Yep! I said: Old Man Biden will beat him again!”
The comedian wasn’t the only one spitting vitriol against conservatives this week. “Animal Kingdom” star Ellen Barkin expressed her loathing for the party in a profanity laced post.
I’m sorry to have to say this. I’m sorry for my language. But.
I fuckin hate these motherf*king Republicans. Every last one. F*ck them one and all.

“I’m sorry to have to say this. I’m sorry for my language. But. I f—in hate these motherf—ing Republicans,” she tweeted on Monday. “Every last one. F— them one and all.”
Elsewhere in Sykes interview, she said that laws restricting men from using women’s bathrooms were “stupid and hateful.”
She addressed the issue in her upcoming Netflix special I’m an Entertainer.
“I’m not trans, but they have my support, 100 percent,” the lesbian comedian stated, noting that it was a “delicate issue” to discuss.
“I wanted to find something where I can shine some light on what they’re going through, to show how just stupid and hateful really it is.”
“I was in a woman’s bathroom one time, and I was like, ‘Who would want to come in here anyway? It was like, I kind of want to go check out the men’s room,” she recalled. “Sometimes, it’s even cleaner.’”
Sykes said that the bit began because she’s always just been grossed out by bathrooms, but doesn’t believe that her take on the topic balances out fellow Netflix comedian Dave Chappelle’s jokes about trans people.
“I think what he said was so hurtful and damaging to the trans community,” she accused. “So yeah, the scale is still tipped, I will say, in their favor.”
“But I know I wanted to say something, because so much has been said on that platform,” Sykes concluded. “I definitely want to something on the other side of it.”
American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson, who is also a lesbian, showed her support for the transgender community by buying out all the seats for an independent film about a transgender woman.
Paulson purchased all the tickets for Monica, which follows a transgender woman returning home to care for her dying mother, who does not recognize that she is her child after transitioning.
The actress bought all the seats for every showing of the film at a Dallas theater from Friday to Sunday, and donated them to the public, despite not being associated with the film.
