Twitter CEO Elon Musk certainly dropped some bombshells in the first release of information regarding the social platforms suppression the Hunter Biden laptop story, and one revelation led conservative actor James Woods to vow that he would sue the Democratic National Party.
Musk has been teasing the the release of the “Twitter Files on free speech suppression” since Monday, noting that the “public deserves to know what really happened” in order to “restore public trust” in his newly purchased platform.
On Friday evening, he allowed Substack reporter Matt Taibbi to reveal why and how Twitter suppressed the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story just weeks before the 2020 presidential election.
The posts detailed how Republican “Ray Donovan” actor was censored for sharing an image of the president’s son smoking crack during a sex act.
Taibbi wrote that Woods was targeted after Twitter staff and executives began “controlling speech” with tools designed to “combat spam and financial fraudsters” without the knowledge of then CEO Jack Dorsey.
He revealed that “connected actors” routinely requested for certain tweets to be deleted, and while both political parties had access to the tools, Twitter’s staff, who donated 95.38% to Democratic congressional candidates in 2020, slanted “content moderation decisions” against conservative users.
“Celebrities and unknowns alike could be removed or reviewed at the behest of a political party,” Taibbi captioned an email exchange between Twitter employees.
According to Fox News, the screenshot revealed the urls to tweets by a random user who shared links to Hunter Biden’s sex tape and drug use, and Woods post of a similar nature.
“I grabbed the first one under SI…defer to Safety on the high profile second one,” the redacted employee wrote.
According to the exchange, the tweets, which were both deleted, were requested to be removed by the DNC.
Woods spoke to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Friday night, and assured the host that the DNC would face legal ramifications for targeting him over his right-leaning views.
“I can guarantee you one thing more than anything else you’ll ever hear in your life: I will be getting a lawyer. I will be suing the Democratic National Committee no matter what,” he remarked.
Woods was exasperated by the revelation, which he learned while at the gun range, but was “not shocked” that the DNC came after him.
The actor said a woman filed a lawsuit against him for supposedly tweeting that she gave the Nazi salute, which he vehemently denied during the call. He won in federal court, but learned that the DNC was behind the whole incident.
“I’ve been a target of these people for six years. They have destroyed my career. They have destroyed my livelihood,” he detailed.
“They’ve destroyed my faith in a country that my family has defended in the military since the Revolutionary War.”
“Whether I win or lose, I am going to stand up for the rights that every American,” he continued.
Woods denied that he was a “so-called celebrity,” and insisted that he’s “hardly recognizable anymore” because of how “connected actors” have destroyed his 50-year career just for skewing conservative.
“And I will sue. And I’m hoping other people will sue,” Woods stated with conviction.
“And if it turns out there are a lot of us on this list where the DNC targeted us, then I will quote the immortal words of Joseph Welch when he attacked [Senator] Joe McCarthy for the enemies list he had – ‘At long last or have you no shame?'”
Woods pinned a tweet thanking Musk for “giving back to all Americans” by releasing the information, which the Twitter CEO assured was just the beginning.
“Tune in for Episode 2 of The Twitter Files tomorrow!” Musk posted late Friday night.
