President Donald Trump gave UFC fans their first look at the cage being built on the White House South Lawn, previewing a one-time fight spectacle set for his 80th birthday and America’s 250th celebration.
The renderings show the octagon planted directly in front of the White House, with roughly 4,000 seats packed around the cage and a temporary illuminated arch rising over the fighters.
Trump revealed the images during an Oval Office appearance with several of the UFC’s biggest names standing behind him, turning the room into a fight-card preview months before the June 14 event.
“I’m a big sports fan. There are no people tougher in sports than the people behind me. These are the toughest. I know them all,” Trump remarked.

The president said the card will be staged “right in front of the White House,” calling it a spectacle unlike anything previously held on the grounds.
“June 14, we’re having a big fight,” Trump said while showing the renderings. “It’s never going to happen again; it’s never happened before.”
“It’s all of the best fighters, the best four fighters standing behind me, all four champions, and it’s going to happen right in front of the White House. This will be the greatest show on Earth,” he added.

The Oval Office lineup included Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane, all expected to be tied to the historic card.
Topuria, the reigning lightweight champion, is expected to headline against interim titleholder Gaethje, while Pereira and Gane are slated for a heavyweight clash.

Trump praised the fighters’ toughness and singled out Pereira and Topuria while talking up the matchup.
“There are no people tougher in sports than the people behind me. These are the toughest people,” Trump lauded.

“Alex Pereira, we’ve seen him knock out a lot of people. That’s what he does. Ilia Topuria, who they say does not get tougher. Very special.”
Topuria thanked Trump for the White House invite and said the experience had surprised him.
“I also want to thank God to give us this beautiful day and to give us the opportunity to experience how it feels to be in our Oval Office. It’s going to be amazing and we want to thank you for this opportunity … And I never thought you will be so kind,” Topuria said.
“Well, I have a false image,” Trump joked.

Topuria then asked the president why he would give a friend such a difficult opponent.
“Why you want to give the toughest test to a friend of yours?” Topuria asked.
“Because he knows that’s what I want,” Gaethje shot back.
Trump agreed with the setup, pressing Topuria on how he expected the fight to go.
“I want to give the hardest test, that’s right. What are your chances of winning?” Trump asked.
“I have complete faith. 100%,” Topuria responded. “And I hope [Gaethje] has the same faith.”
Pereira also thanked Trump for the chance to fight on the White House grounds, calling the event a rare moment for the sport.
“I would like to thank the opportunity to be fighting in the White House. We know it’s a special event that everybody would like to be present. It makes me feel special,” Pereira said.
Gane called the invitation a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. “Just want to say thank you. It’s an honor. I’m really proud. It’s going to be really special, one time in your life,” he stated.
Gaethje used the Oval Office visit to credit Trump with backing the UFC long before the sport became mainstream.
“What an unbelievable honor. I’m not sure many know how big of a part you were to the UFC coming on and becoming mainstream in the early ’90s when no one believed in us and they thought we were just absolute animals,” he recalled.

“It’s truly an honor. Awesome that it’s your birthday, awesome that it’s Flag Day, wonderful to represent this country. I think we’d be 10 years behind if it wasn’t for you,” Gaethje noted.
He added that Trump’s willingness to defy political norms was part of why he supported him.
“To have a president that’s willing to go against an upstream and against the norms is truly special. That’s why you got my vote. And, it’s why we’re such a great nation right now compared to where we were,” Gaethje lauded.
Trump later said fighters across the UFC wanted a slot on the historic card, while Gaethje joked that some were trying to protect themselves from the embarrassment of missing out.
“They all said “we don’t want to” because of the optics of them crying when they didn’t get on it,” Gaethje stated.
After the Oval Office remarks, Trump headed to the Truman Balcony for photos with the fighters.
The event has been in the works since Trump announced it last July, with UFC CEO Dana White confirming the plan the next month. Officials later set the date for June 14, which falls on Trump’s 80th birthday and Flag Day.
White recently said the idea came directly from Trump during a UFC event.
“The president did. We were at a fight, and he leans over and says, ‘We should do a fight at the White House,’ and I said, ‘Yes, yes we should,’” White said on “The Katie Miller Podcast.”
White also defended his long friendship with Trump and said he does not worry about whether that relationship costs the UFC business.
“I don’t give a s—. I don’t know the answer to that question,” White said when asked if his support for Trump had hurt the company.
“I’ve gotten to a point in my life, especially after COVID and all the nutty s— that went on during that time, that I only want to be in business with and talk to people that I’m aligned with.”
White said his friendship with Trump does not require them to agree on everything, joking that their strangest disagreement involves the “Rocky” movies.
“He’s a great guy,” White said. “He’s a great human being. He’s a great, he has a great family. I love his family. Ivanka and Jared are two of the greatest people you’ll ever meet.”
The 4,000-seat event will include invite allotments controlled by Trump, White and Ari Emanuel, with White saying military members will make up a major share of the crowd.
“I think there’ll be world leaders there, but there’s going to be a lot of military there. The president wants all the branches of the military represented at the fight. And, so more military people will be there than actual invites,” White said.
