Jimmy Kimmel was absolutely torched for trotting out his family at an anti-Trump protest in California over the weekend.
Kimmel held a sign reading “Enough Already,” while his children carried anti-Trump messages and his father wore a “Barack Obama” hat with a sign that said “Deport ICE.”
He posted photos from the event on social media, writing, “Great turnout at #NoKings.” The negative response to his post flooded in almost immediately.
“Deport Jimmy Kimmel,” one commenter wrote. Another hilariously said, “Trump is not your king, He’s your daddy.”

Kimmel also appeared alongside Sen. Chris Murphy at the rally in Torrance, California, a moment Murphy shared online.
“Look who I ran into at the No Kings rally in Torrance, California,” Murphy wrote, posting a photo of the two smiling.
Murphy’s appearance came as tensions remain high in Washington over funding battles tied to the Department of Homeland Security, with TSA workers still dealing with financial strain and long airport lines.

The rally marked at least the third time Kimmel has attended a “No Kings” event since President Donald Trump returned to office.
He appeared at a rally in Los Angeles with his parents in June, and another in February with his wife and children.

Last October, he promoted a similar protest on his late-night show, comparing the movement to the American Revolution and encouraging viewers to attend.
“There is nothing more American than a political protest. The American Revolution was a ‘No Kings’ rally,” Kimmel told his audience.
He also accused Republicans of holding a double standard when it comes to protests.
“So just to be clear, peacefully protesting a wannabe dictator means you hate America. Attacking the Capitol to overturn America? Patriotic walking tour,” he claimed.

Kimmel urged his viewers to mock Trump with protest signs tied to his weight.
“And if you are planning to go to the rally, and you’re going to be making your own sign — everybody there has a sign — I just want to ask you to remember our president is very sensitive about his weight,” he continued.
“So please do not use the word ‘Shamussolini’ to describe him, or ‘Engorge Washington,’ or ‘King Hungry the Eighth.’ It’s rude, and he will throw you in jail.”
The rally appearance comes after a week of controversy tied to Kimmel’s comments about newly confirmed Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.
During a recent monologue, Kimmel mocked Mullin’s background as a plumber and former MMA fighter, questioning his qualifications for the role.
“Trump’s got a whole new generation of thinkers lined up, including his newly confirmed Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne ‘Chuck Mike Bruce Dave’ Melon — Mullin. Maybe melon’s better,” Kimmel began.
“Before he was elected to the Senate, Markwayne Mullin was a low-level MMA fighter and a plumber,” Kimmel said.
“That’s right. We have a plumber protecting us from terrorism now. It worked for Super Mario. Why not Markwayne?”
🚨 Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib support TERRORISTS like Hamas🚨 They HATE President Trump and good people like you! ➡️➡️➡️ Take the URGENT Congressional Poll NOW to help REMOVE Ilhan and Rashida for GOOD!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
He also joked about Trump appointing rapper Lil Wayne to the position, describing the administration’s picks as unqualified.
The remarks triggered pushback from Republican lawmakers, who argued Kimmel’s comments insulted working-class Americans.
“I prefer plumbers to woke & unfunny comedians,” Sen. Ted Cruz wrote.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis said the comments showed “disdain” for blue-collar workers and people who take on public service roles.
“The disdain for which the Democrats and Hollywood elites have for working class Americans – and folks who step up to do important jobs for their country – is shameful. These people need help,” she posted.
Rep. Mike Collins defended Mullin’s background, pointing to his business success and the jobs he created through his company.
He also echoed Lummis about Democrats apparent contempt for middle-class Americans.
“The elites too often look down their noses at blue collar, middle America. They try to demean a man by calling him a plumber,” Collins posted.
“As if plumbing is something to be ashamed of or is somehow a lesser profession than a court jester.”
Kimmel addressed the backlash on his show days later, pushing back on the criticism and defending his comments.
Jimmy Kimmel tried to clean up his comments about Markwayne Mullin being a former plumber, but he tried to have it both ways. “Let me make this very clear, I’m not upset that the head of Homeland Security used to be a plumber. I’m upset that he isn’t still a plumber,” he said.
He accused critics of twisting his words and missing his point.
“Of course, they decided to twist that to say it was an insult to plumbers, which it was not,” Kimmel said.
“I wouldn’t put a plumber in charge of Homeland Security for the same reason I wouldn’t call a five-star general to pull a rat out of my toilet. OK? We all have our areas of expertise.”
President Trump weighed in during a phone interview, targeting Kimmel directly.
“He’s a loser. He gets no ratings. None. He’s got no talent. He’s got Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Trump snarked.
Trump: Well, I've watched Kimmel. He's a loser. He gets no ratings. None. He's got no talent. He's got Trump derangement syndrome. Whenever I watch I just can't believe that he's even on the air. He shouldn't be on the air. He should be canned. pic.twitter.com/jAWhD2PCJO

“Whenever I watch, I just can’t believe that he’s even on the air. He shouldn’t be on the air. He should be canned.”
Trump defended Mullin’s background, pointing to his success running his family’s plumbing business.
“Markwayne is fantastic … Everybody loves him, and I think he’s gonna do a fantastic job,” he said.
He also pushed back on criticism of Mullin’s MMA experience, calling him a capable fighter and praising his background.
“You know, I call him country smart,” Trump said. “He’s a very smart guy. Everybody loves him.”
Mullin was confirmed as Homeland Security secretary on a 54-45 Senate vote, with Sens. John Fetterman and Martin Heinrich joining Republicans to support his nomination while Sen. Rand Paul voted against it.
Fetterman defended his vote, saying he prioritized the country over party.
“I’m on the right side of reasonable,” he remarked. “I’m on the right side of never shut the government down.”
“I’m the guy that’s on the side of country over party, and I’m going to remain in that exact space.”
