President Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 presidential race on Sunday drew opposite reactions from celebrities on both sides of the aisle.
Biden announced that he was dropping out of the race after a rising chorus of cries for him to quit ahead of the election from politicians and celebrities from his own party.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president,” Biden wrote in a statement.
And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.”
If you think Joseph Biden was a danger to America as president, wait until you see what he’ll be like as a bitter, enraged lame duck.

He endorsed Harris as his replacement in a tweet shortly after the announcement, writing “it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”
Naturally left-wing celebrities were falling over themselves to laud Biden for both his time in office, and for making the difficult decision to pull out of the race.
“In my heart I’m tortured, Because I don’t believe the Democrats can win the presidency With ‘Pres Biden’ ‘Joe,’ whom I’ve loved since we met in 2008,” singer Cher replied to his post.
Jill Biden super pissed off today.

“I campaigned for him I believe IT’S TIME 2 PASS THE BATON. TIME 4 DEMS 2 THINK ‘WAY’ OUTSIDE THE BOX. MAYBE EVEN A SPLIT TICKET.”
The administration’s defacto celebrity spokesperson, Robert De Niro said in a statement that “Joe Biden is stepping aside to clear the path for another Democrat to become president because there is nothing more important for our country than defeating Donald Trump at the ballot box.”
This just makes it easier for them to cheat again so they are happy. Not even the most crazy democrat was going to look away with Biden getting 80 million votes again. https://t.co/EfryQ6Tw3W

“With respect, admiration, and affection, thank you Mr. President!” he added.
“Joe Biden will go down in history as a man who accomplished significant achievements in his four-year term,” Barbara Streisand fawned.
“We should be grateful for his upholding of our democracy.”
Okay everybody, now we have our marching orders and time to hit the trail running. No to Trump/Vance. No to the right-wing Christian religious takeover of our nation. Nothing wrong with Christianity; just shouldn’t be running a nation birthed from freedom of religion.… https://t.co/cqk0fRLWPA

While “Avengers” star Mark Ruffalo used Biden’s announcement to take a shot at both Trump and Christians.
“OK everybody, now we have our marching orders and time to hit the trail running. No to Trump/Vance,” he tweeted on Sunday.
“No to the right-wing Christian religious takeover of our nation. Nothing wrong with Christianity; just shouldn’t be running a nation birthed from freedom of religion,” Ruffalo added.
Meanwhile, conservative celebrities voiced opinions ranging from celebrating Trump’s prowess, to questioning how Biden’s decision will affect the upcoming race and if he’s still fit to serve out the rest of his term.
“They tried to destroy President Trump with the Russia Hoax, two phony impeachments, lawfare indictments across the landscape, an engineered virus, and even leaving him vulnerable to assassination,” actor James Woods wrote.
“Trump, on the other hand, kicked Biden to the curb with a single debate.”
Meanwhile shouldn’t there be an address to the nation when a sitting president throws in the towel like some punch drunk fighter.
The Democrats are so damn crazy I’m actually not kidding when I say it would be nice to have some proof of life regarding Joseph Biden.

“There is no way Kamala would have been the nominee if Joe Biden dropped out before the Democratic Primary and had to run vs other candidates,” Portnoy wrote.
“The people who control Joe also control Kamala and just subverted democracy with pure election fraud and theft.”

Comedian Roseanne Barr echoed the thought in her Sunday post.
“This just makes it easier for them to cheat again so they are happy,” she wrote.
“Not even the most crazy democrat was going to look away with Biden getting 80 million votes again.”
Fox News contributor Piers Morgan questioned if Biden should be allowed to stay in office if he is too weak to run again.

“If Biden’s unfit to stay in the presidential race, then surely he’s unfit to remain president too?” Morgan asked.
“Jill Biden super pissed off today,” Dean Cain hilariously quipped.
“Politics is just a brutal f****** blood sport,” former co-host of “The View” Meghan McCain noted.
Meanwhile, “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin backtracked on his opinion that the Democratic party nominate Mitt Romney as its 2024 presidential candidate.
Hours after Sorkin’s New York Times op-ed dropped, “West Wing” actor Josh Malina posted a screenshot of a text thread with Sorkin.
“I need to borrow your Twitter account again,” Sorkin said before captioning his text for a tweet: “I take it all back. Harris for America!”

A rep for Sorkin later confirmed the message from Sorkin to Malina was accurate.
A cadre of liberal celebrities further praised Biden for dropping out of the race.
“Thank you President @joebiden for your service and decades of leadership,” Julianne Moore posted on Instagram.
“And for leading the strongest gun safety administration in U.S. history.”
Former Obama speechwriter Favreau said Biden was “courageous and selfless” for the move.
“The President did what he’s done for the last four years – he listened to the American people and put the country’s interests ahead of his own,” he penned.
“I support wholeheartedly @joebiden and his decision to step down and to endorse unreservedly @kamalaharris,” added scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis.
“SHE IS TRUSTED AND TESTED and she is a fierce advocate for women’s rights and people of color and her message is one of HOPE and UNITY for America at her time of great national divide.”
“I want to honor our President @JoeBiden. He has served our nation admirably for decades, he is a decent honorable man, a hugely successful president, and a patriot,” actor George Takei of “Star Trek” fame praised.
“Now let us unite behind @KamalaHarris and defeat Donald Trump in November!”
“Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill claimed that Biden has “a record of accomplishments unmatched by any president in our lifetime.”
“He restored honesty, dignity (and) integrity to the office after four years of lies, crime, scandal (and) chaos,” Hamill posted.
“Thank you for your service, Mr. President. It’s now our duty as patriotic Americans to elect the Democrat who will honor (and) further your legacy.”
“Joe Biden has presided over the most consequential first term of real progress in my lifetime. … I’m grateful for the grace and patriotism he has shown by choosing to step aside for the sake of the country,” John Legend shared on Instagram.
“I’m so ready to work to help unite the pro-democracy coalition to reject Trump’s authoritarian, oppressive Project 2025 and elect Kamala Harris as our President. She’s ready for this fight and I’m excited to help her in any way I can.”
