President Biden and the First Lady were torched online for finally publicly recognized their seventh grandchild on Friday night.
The Biden’s have frequently omitted 4-year-old Navy Jean Roberts, the unacknowledged daughter of Hunter Biden and former stripper Lunden Roberts, when speaking to the press.
Her name was noticeably absent from the White House stocking display of all Biden’s family members in 2022, despite Roberts and Hunter reaching a paternity and child support agreement in 2020.
As recently as April, the President didn’t included Navy Joan in the clan’s headcount when speaking to the press at a “take your child to work day” event at the White House.

“I have six grandchildren, and I’m crazy about them. And I speak to them every single day. Not a joke,” he told the press.
After a disastrous week that saw Hunter’s “sweetheart” plea deal fall apart in Federal court on Wednesday, the Biden’s have apparently course corrected and decided to speak out about their seventh grandchild.
The announcement was made in statement to People magazine, in what critics are calling a “Friday night news dump,” on the same day the President headed on a ten day vacation at his Rehoboth, Delaware beach house.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” they said on Friday night.
“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” the statement continued. “Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”
A source told People that the announcement was prompted by Hunter and Lunden reaching a child support agreement, which included compensation in both money and the first son’s art, in June of 2023.
“You have to remember there were some fairly contentious legal proceedings between Navy’s parents happening until just a few weeks ago,” the source claimed. “As grandparents, the Bidens are following Hunter’s lead.”
“They are — and have been — giving Hunter and Lunden the space and time to figure things out.”

“Thousands of families have faced similar circumstances, working it out in private, versus the spotlight,” the source continued.
“At the center is a 4-year-old girl and everyone wants what is best for her, including all of her grandparents.”
Critics jeered about the timing of the President’s announcement and how it appears to be politically motivated.
“This was becoming a storyline the White House could no longer ignore,” said MSNBC host Jonathan Lemire.
Always classy when you summer Friday night news dump an acknowledgment of your grandchild… https://t.co/u0Z4o6GCD5

“Always classy when you summer Friday night news dump an acknowledgment of your grandchild,” Fourth Watch’s Steve Krakauer tweeted.
“Imagine being acknowledged as a grandchild only because polling against was so bad,” wrote Fusilli Spock.
“He is undoubtedly feeling the walls closing in,” noted retired Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr.
“He lied about this initially. Just like him saying, my son did nothing wrong.”
“Joe and Jill Biden’s rejection of their granddaughter for four years, while refusing to tell Hunter to grow up and take responsibility for his daughter,” Fox News’ Katie Pavlich added.
“And now issuing an acknowledgment in People Magazine to get good PR says so much about who they are. Absolutely disgusting.”
The RNC trashed the President for taking four years to recognize Navy Jean, who Hunter has refused to allow the privilege of using the Biden last name.
NBC treated it as "breaking news" that Joe Biden, after more than four years, finally acknowledged the existence of his seventh grandchild.
